One year ago, in November 2024, LATRO made a firm commitment to the Zambian market by opening its regional office in Lusaka; recognizing its vibrant telecommunications sector and its powerful role in driving national digital transformation. The LATRO team was thrilled to celebrate the one-year anniversary, a milestone highlighted by a high-level executive event in Lusaka and strong local media coverage, including the Zambian Financial Times.

Our celebratory event, held on Friday, November 14, 2025, brought together C-level leadership from key partners, including representatives of MTN Zambia, The Zambian Telecommunication Regulator and other key Zambian Telecommunication Providers. The highlight of the evening was the attendance and address by His Excellency, Hon. Felix C. Mutati, MP, Minister of Technology and Science. 

The Minister’s presence underscored the Government’s serious commitment to fostering a stable, secure environment for technology investment—a theme that resonated throughout the evening's discussions.

The rapid expansion of access to telecommunication and Mobile Money (MoMo) is the primary engine of financial inclusion in Zambia. However, this growth brings escalating risks. During our executive sessions, the discussion heavily focused on safeguarding these crucial platforms.
